GXL 10 Gauge Primary Wire

Picture a Heavy Duty Diesel Truck, years old and working, carrying cargo over long distances in a high temperature desert environment. Heavy vibration, diesel splatter, road dust and the occasional rain intrusion, engine bay temperature is always over 100℃ The vehicle's charging system, cooling fan control circuitry, auxiliary heater power lines and some lighting and sensor power lines all require high current to reliably power them. First, during installation, the old GPT-type PVC insulated wires were cut by the technicians. Common wires have hardened insulation, cracks and leakage risks from exposure to high temp over time. The GXL has thin walled XLPE insulation which is lighter and easier to lay in the tight confines of the wiring harness in the engine compartment . The insulation also has improved heat ageing resistance. Special wire strippers are used by technicians to strip off the insulation layer and waterproof connectors and heat shrink tubing are installed to form a tight seal at the connection points. Then run GXL 10 Gauge Primary Wire next to the path of the existing wiring harness and secure it with flame retardant cable ties to avoid rubbing against the exhaust pipe or moving parts.

GXL 10 Gauge Primary Wire is also great for use in trailers, agricultural machinery, marine equipment and industrial machinery to name a few . It is used for example in off-road vehicle modifications for power lines on high power winches, auxiliary lighting or dual battery systems. In marine engine rooms its properties of moisture and fuel resistance are used to connect starter motors or chargers. The GXL offers a good compromise between the SXL (thick walled, more wear resistant but heavier) and TXL (ultra thin walled, lighter but slightly less wear resistant). GXL is particularly suitable for applications where there are space constraints but some mechanical strength is needed.
